"As part of the major international photography project FRESH EYE, project partners have launched a call for contemporary photographers. The winners spent four days in Budapest, Belgrade and Vienna in the summer of 2024 to explore the city through street photography. Their work will be presented in a curated group exhibition as part of the BUDAPEST PHOTO FESTIVAL, the BELGRADE FOTOMONTH and FOTO WIEN."

“Im Rahmen des großen internationalen Fotografieprojekts FRESH EYE haben Projektpartner einen Aufruf für zeitgenössische Fotografinnen und Fotografen veröffentlicht. Die Gewinnerinnen und Gewinner haben im Sommer 2024 vier Tage in Budapest, Belgrad und Wien verbracht, um die Stadt durch Streetphotography zu erkunden. Ihre Arbeiten werden in einer kuratierten Gruppenausstellung im Rahmen des BUDAPEST PHOTO FESTIVALS, des BELGRADER FOTOMONATS und des FOTO WIENS präsentiert.”

FRESH EYE
The stream.
The predetermined connecting point between the cities of Budapest, Vienna and Belgrade is a river: the Danube, which flows from one metropolis to the next and takes on a different form in each place - the current, the continuity and the movement were to be incorporated into the project as a metaphor. The photographs taken in each city, form a coherent scene that is carried on from picture to picture through motifs, gestures or colours. In the form of a continuous leporello, the pictures form the stream that has followed me through the cities.
Der Fluss.
Der vorgegebene Verbindungspunkt zwischen den Städten Budapest, Wien und Belgrad ist ein Fluss: Die Donau, die von einer Metropole zur nächsten fließt und an jedem Ort andere Gestalt annimmt - die Strömung, die Kontinuität und die Bewegung sollten als Metapher in das Projekt einfließen. Die Fotografien in jeder Stadt bilden eine zusammenhängende Szene, die durch Motive, Gesten oder Farben von Bild zu Bild weitergetragen wird. In Form eines zusammenhängen Leporellos bilden die Bilder aus jeder Stadt einen Teil des Flusses, welcher mich durch die Städte begleitet hat
